Pikaboo.

Status: Surprisingly alive.

Quick update on things I wrote in my last entry:
  • Yes, I am very allergic to caffeine. Luckily, I have no problems with tea. Which is good, considering I drink at least two litres of various flavours every day.
  • My parents have now moved to Scotland, and my father recently got a permanent job at the hospital in Aberdeen, working with children. Mum works in quite another part of the same hospital.

And this is what has happened in Nedyfay's life since last time she updated here (I read, I just do not  write):
  • Broke up with the boyfriend of four years.
  • Moved home; I now live with two girls and a guy.
So exciting. There is more, but it is all pretty minor so I will not bother writing them down here.

I have once again come to the conclusion that my English needs to be cleaned, no, cleansed, of American words and expressions. So from now on, garter is no longer a word in my vocabulary and has been replaced by 'suspenders'. Amongst other things.

Status: Still not dead.

Exams are once again approaching (the heck, I just had them?!), and Nedyfay is being nice and good and does a lot of reading. Not entirely sure how to revise for the 1301 literature course, except re-reading my lecture notes and some of the stories (I am not going to read Sense and Sensibility, Huckleberry Finn, and Wuthering Heights all over again). I miss the 1301 lectures, they were awesome.

The best friend a girl can have is a homosexual man. The five main perks are:

  • It is a "he". Men are better friends than women, in general.
  • He is homosexual, thus he will never be sexually interested in you.
  • You can discuss men together.
  • They are great companions to drag clothes-shopping with you. Girls compare themselves to each other and compete about who looks best (a battle I always loose), but a homosexual man tends to be plain honest.
  • You can cuddle up to him and he will not expect, nor want, anything else.

That said, Balroggie is also good to go shopping with. She might be a bit like me; a man in a female packing (I spend most of my time with members of the male sex, and thus I am slowly but surely being converted. Funnily enough, my preference in clothing has become a lot more feminine - bring on the skirts and high heels!).

I have been sick a lot lately. Intolerance for caffeine, most likely, which is bad news because coffee is one of things that make life worth living. It also means I have to be careful about taking painkillers (you would be surprised if you saw how many of them contain caffeine) and drinking tea (although tea contains a different sort of caffeine), coke (well, good for the waist line I suppose), et cetera. Got an appointment with my doctor on the 1st of June.

My eyesight is getting worse. To comfort myself, I bought a pair of coloured contact lenses. They are green, and I might post pictures of me wearing them here.

I miss Steve =( Seeing my internet connection at home permanently died several months ago, I only get onto AIM when I sleep over at my boyfriend's, and that is getting seldom as I am pulling out of more and more group activities.

My parents are packing up their belongings and fleeing the country. Moving to Scotland, they are. Yay! Holidays in Scotland!

I am, unlike what people seem to believe, not dead. I just have a manically depressed connection and not much to do online anyway.

Studies are going well, this semester we are focusing on litterature as well as British and American civilization (American civilization...now there is an oxymoron). Out of fifteen books, eleven of them were prose or poetry. So far we have read Huckleberry Finn, The yellow wallpaper, The Voyage, and The Dead. This week and next I will have to read Emily Brönte's Wuthering Heights, because in two weeks or so we will start working with it during lectures and groups. All good and well - the only book I think I will have a problem with is Jane Austen's Sense and sensibility; I once tried Pride and Prejudice and ended up throwing the book halfway through the house. Ah well, we do get three weeks to read it.

In the end of February I will be visiting Tønsberg for a week. During the train journey I will be reading poems and short stories, making notes as I go, so that I do not need to worry about them.

I had lost 10 pounds before Christmas! Go me. I have no idea about my weight now, but I think it is about the same as it was. I plan on loosing twenty more, but...I sincerely doubt that I have that much to loose. My BMI tells me I am slightly overweight, but I do not think I am. Not really. We shall see how the loosing of weight goes, though. (I need to get back to aerobics and pilates.)

So that was it from me, for this time. I need to play house wife before I get ready for bed, finish washing clothes and such. See you!

I am nineteen now.

My birthday was mostly good. I am just kind of sad some people managed to forget about it, one of my best friends included. Yeah, childish of me.

Five days to go, not counting today ^-^

Studied for seven hours today. Now I will rest, have dinner, and then read for two more hours before I go to bed.
